My thoughts on "the internet"

My relationship with the internet is an interesting one. While I love all that the internet allows me to do; find information at the click of a button, speak and communicate with people all over the world, share goodness, discover great ideas and learn wonderful enriching things I sometimes wish it would just go away. The internet can be such a time sucker, something good can turn into a waste of time or filling my mind with insignificant information that could encourage me to compare myself to others, judge others or feel irritated.

I find I am constantly re-evaluating why I blog... I want to make sure I am blogging to document my family's life and keep family far away updated but why then do I find my self checking to see who has been on my blog, looking for comments or find myself doing something because it would be fun to blog about it. Facebook drives me crackers! Why on earth do I find myself hopping on their throughout the day for no apparent reason. Really?! Are the children trying to get my attention less important than some friend who I never speak to but watch their life from a far via Facebook? No! I tell myself that my children are the most important thing in my life and yet some of my actions would suggest otherwise.

I find myself reading blogs about awesome mothers who do all these creative activities or searching on pinterest looking for ideas to incorporate into our life all while I have an opportunity to be living my own life. Sometimes the statement "living in the moment" really rings true.

I want to be a person whose actions are a true reflection of the intentions of my heart. While I love a complement I really want to be a person who only seeks the approval of my Father in Heaven and second to Him I want my family to know I love them not necessarily from my words but by my actions.

I am really going to better determine how and why I use the internet. I think some changes need to occur so I rise above distractions and focus on what is important.

Ben cuts down a tree

The previous owner of our house has a tradition that every birthday she planted a tree/bush. She has four kids and lived in the house for 20 years, that equals A LOT of trees/bushes. We have a tradition that every birthday we cut one down:)

Ben decided it was time for our already dead tree to go. The weather was GLORIOUS, warm, sunny and full of life.

He has some great helpers...

Hanging with friends

Sometimes me and my friends get together and let our kids play (AKA make enormous messes while we catch up and dance...literally).

Baseball Practice and more

Sometimes we head over to the baseball field and play some ball. These guys make my face smile.

I bought a bike trailer and we have been LOVING it. This is Lucas and Reagan having a rest after a long bike ride, doesn't Reagan look happy?

I love me some library time with my Lucas dude;
