Little Man Lucas

Lucas is the ultimate Mummy's boy and most of the time I love it! Except when I am cooking dinner...

I love it when he grabs my face in his hands and kisses me or says "peas!" (please)

I love it when I am working out early in the morning and I look over to the stairs to see Lucas leaning his head on the wall smiling at me.

I love it when I pretend to eat him after a bath and he turns into a giggle box.

I love to see him snuggled next to Jack watching a movie together.

I love to watch him explore and discover.

I love his adoration for puzzles, he will do the same puzzle for hours...literally

He is infatuated with Christmas lights and it makes my heart smile

I love reading to him

I love it when his is sad and just wants to hold my finger for comfort

I love that one of his favorite things is to play outside with the dogs (I think half the time he things he is a dog.)

I love the way he squeezes me tightly when we hug

I love his enthusiasm

Downtown Denver

So, my brother and sister-in-law came into town to participate in a flash mob that I organized (more about that to come) after flash mobbing we headed down town to show them what Denver has to offer. It was a quick but lovely little trip. We headed to the cathedral, wow, such beauty!

Check this sun glare out!!!

Don't check your religion anywhere...

I was reading in the book of Mormon with my boys, actually Jack was the only one listening as Lucas rolled around making goofy noises but none the less we were reading about the Zoramites and Rameumptom. For those of you unfamiliar with this story you can read it here. As I was reading about the perverted ways of the Zoramites I started to reflect how we pervert or distort aspects of Jesus Christ's gospel to suit our needs, our desires or wants. In today's world it's all about what I want, what I need and receiving recognition; truly the focus is a selfish one. The Zoramites were in the habit of standing on a tower to recite the same prayer full of distorted truths one at a time and then ignoring Jesus Christ the rest of the week until the following Sabbath.

I think often we all have tendances to fall into the routine of worship and check our religion at the door as we leave church. Maybe this is done in engaging in behavior that would not be pleasing to God; gossiping, judging, selfishness, reverting to bad habits because its easy and we can always repent again. The fact is I don't want to live like that. I want to make sure that my religion is so firmly strapped around my heart that every moment of my life I am prodded by the question "what would Jesus do?" and "How can I become more God like?"

I have been asked my whole life "why do you sacrifice so much for your religion?" and the answer is simple Because it's true! I know as we come unto Jesus Christ and accept his Restored Gospel and change our lives we are blessed beyond measure.

If you want to learn more about Jesus Christ go here.

Jesus Christ is the reason for Christmas. Christmas does not exist without Him. I am so thankful for this glorious season, an opportunity to reflect on the birth or our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope I can de-clutter my life so that I have the time and energy to look beyond myself and see those around me and reach out to them in the way Christ would have me do.

What is Christmas about?
The answer lies in this video message:

Christmas Tree Cutting 2012

This is our forth year of searching and cutting down our own Christmas tree down. I LOVE this tradition. It's not just about having a lovely fresh tree in our house but the whole experience is awesome. The searching, debating, analyzing of trees while trying to not loose children or dogs in the wilderness is such an adventure.

I really feel a lot of gratitude for my family. I just love them. I love creating tradition with this bunch...This year our good friends The Jones tagged along, love them too:)

*Oh, and Abby (Ben's sister's dog, who we are taking care of temporarily)  came and went off leash...she did GREAT! I was proud of her!
