The power of our home

I am in love with this picture. I am thrilled that I captured their expression

I came across this quote that has really impacted me. This is Barbara Bush addressing graduating students at Wellesley College:

"As important as your obligations as a doctor, lawyer, or business leader will be, you are human being first and those human connections - with spouses, with children, with friends - are the most important investments you will ever make. At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict, or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a child, a friend, or a parent...Our success as a society depends not what happens in the White House but on what happens inside your house."

It hit it on the nail don't you think? Isn't it so easy to become bombarded with distractions that take us away from our home, our family, our purpose? I think a change of perspective is a beautiful reminder to remember why God sent us to earth, to be a part of a family, to love, to grow, to learn from each other and to become like him.

I am trying extra hard to maintain this perspective by making sure my heart is in my home and the potential it has to be glorious.

I absolutely love this. The quote and the photograph. You are such a beautiful person and a wonderful mother, Jess. As far as I can see, you've accomplished a happy, warm home with two incredible little boys. Thank you for sharing this!

That first picture is too, too precious! And the quote is something I think I would like to display in my home. It's too easy to forget what's important...never hurts to leave reminders where they'll be seen frequently. :)
