#28 - We are Sick!

Today was SO rough. I got Ben's awful head and sinus cold. I feel like I have been smacked in the head. Ben is at the tail end of the cold but still feeling rotten, Lucas has a cough and Jack...well he is just Jack. I felt like I was walking around in a thick haze.

The end of our day looked like this:

So I have mentioned that our dog Reagan is menstruating. We finally got sick of cleaning up blood so she now wears a diaper. She has been bleeding for almost Three weeks! Her nipples are enlarged, Jack in obsessed with them. Today she ripped her toe nail and now wears Ben's sock strapped to her leg.

She is so humiliated!

#27: To the park we go

This little guy watched while trying to avoid the blinding sun

while this menstruating dog did a whole bunch of this

and I watched this handsome guy who I happen to have a major crush on;)

Jack made friends with some kind bigger boys. They were in business of collecting as many stones as possible

every now and then the Dog did this, it lasted a total 3 seconds

and then she did this

ignoring the splinter and tears it was good:)

#26: How I avoid being a grumpy monster...

Well, this morning I was feeling oh so tired. My tiredness probably has something to do with the fact that I was up 8 times in the night. UGH! Normally, my kids sleep pretty awesome, but last night was not a good night for either child.
For me tiredness equals grumpiness. When I am grumpy, Jack's scream about kills me, every time he screams I feel a volcano erupts inside of me and it's very challenging for me to contain it. There is only one way to avoid being a volcanic mother of explosions and that is to go somewhere public. Sadly, I am better at controlling my emotions and temper in public, I am working on that, you can judge me I don't care.
So off to the little farm in Littleton. Ethan, Jack's buddy tagged along for our little adventure.
We ran around, looked at animals, explored old farm buildings which the boys thought were freaky and had a good old time.
There was a little eruption in the car on the way home and now the kids are crazy and there is a high possibility that I might sell our dog to a gypsy but thats life and I am just fine with it.

Life wouldn't be complete without the ups and downs, the hugs and screaming, the smiles and frowns, the giggles and sobs. You just have to find joy in the journey and avoid getting overwhelmed. Well, thats the theory, the practice is more challenging.

How do you find joy in your journey?

#21 RODEO/State Stock Show

So Saturday we spontaneously decided to spend part of the day at the Western Stock Show. I LOVE this place! I should have been a cowgirl, I mean I can holler like nobody's business, if I had a cowboy hat I would look awesome AND I can milk a goat, which I am sure is a needed skill as a cowgirl.

It's too late for me to live my dreams as a cowgirl so I will invest all my efforts in my kids so I can live through them!! Great parenting techniques don't you think;) Jack was quite taken by the kids ridding sheep and declared that he wanted to do it when he was bigger; I totally support him. Yesterday, while I was cooking Jack called me to come, I walked into the room and Jack is straddling our dog, who by the way is menstruating-YUCK! It was hilarious! I think we might practice daily.

Some shots from our fun time.

#20 Lucas' hair has been growing so much lately I just can't keep up with it. Any advice on how to get the tangles out?

#18 Smiles, nakedness and an awkward conversation about child birth by Mr. Jack

So, I have been privileged to watch my friends kiddo's the last few days while she was in the hospital recovering from her C-section. In the car on the way to pick her up this was the boys conversation:

ETHAN: hey! My mom had a baby
JACK: yeah my mom had a baby too
ETHAN: Well my mom's baby came out of her belly (it's true she had a C-section)
JACK: Yeah mom's baby came out of her private (tastefully put jack)

JACK: mom I am hungry

HA!!! I love it:)

Smitten tonight with my boys:)

#17; A tiny brand new baby- Myla Elaine Jones

I had the privileged to visit a dear friend and her new tiny baby. Wow I can not believe how quickly the last six months have flown by since I was the one at the hospital receiving visitors. I snapped some quick shoots of the little baby and her proud big sister.

babies are truly a miracle, it is a testament that God lives:)
