Happy Mothers Day Mum!

The mother is and must be, whether she knows it or not, the greatest, strongest, and most lasting teacher her children have.
--Hannah Whitall Smith

After being a mother for almost a year I have come to understand that it one tough job! I certainly love being a mother but there are a sum of trials that accompany this awe inspiring role. I want to say a huge thank-you to my mum. Growing up she was always there for me, ready to talk, offer advice or send a cuddle my way. As a teenager she was my awesome taxi driver, poor woman. She could have spent her time working, enjoying herself, developing her talents but instead she encourage me to always seek righteousness even if that meant diving me to and from school, then to dance class, followed by seminary and a rehearsal and finally home. Wow, she sure sacrificed a lot for my joy. I remember many a night sitting at the foot of her bed talking about the gospel, I always knew I could ask her questions about anything.

A little message to my mum:
In the wizard of Oz Dorothy said it best when she clicked her red shoes together three times, reciting "there's no place like home." It's true. I always felt our home was the one place where I could kick of my shoes and be myself. The main reason is that you worked so hard to make sure our home had a positive atmosphere of love. I enjoyed bringing home company because you always made them feel like one of the family.Thank-you mum! I love you. I hope I can always put my children first as you have and emulated the savior through my actions. I wish you a most glorious day and can't wait until I see you on Saturday!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh.

Thanks Jessie for your lovely note to me, its 7.15am and I'm already crying (thankfully I haven't put on any make-up yet!) I can't tell you how excited we are to have come and spend 3 whole weeks with us ;-)

I am so very proud of you and what you have accomplished, I think you are an incredible mother, doing a great job of juggling motherhood with studying. Your spiritual strength is tangible, your smile so infectiously beautiful, you are a true inspiration to me.

All my love Mum x
