Food for Thought

I was reading in Alma yesterday about the people of Nephi who belonged to the church of God, they were "distinguished for their zeal towards God, and also towards men: for they were perfectly honest upright in all things; they were firm in the faith of Christ, even unto the end" (Alma 27:27). I love this scripture, I want to be distinguished by my zeal towards God, zeal sounds so profound but I didn't know what it meant until a minute ago!
The dictionary describes Zeal as an "Enthusiastic devotion to a cause, ideal, or goal and tireless diligence in its furtherance."
After understanding the meaning of this thrilling word I realize I need to develop more zeal towards God. When I stop to think about everything I have there is no reason not to be zealous. The Gospel is the greatest gift and yet I still find it hard to be proactive in service and missionary work. But this is our challenge in mortality to become like Christ, so I challenge myself and everyone else to be zealous towards God and each other!

Seriously Jessica, you are starting to make me look bad! You are such a spiritual, well rounded person! I read my scriptures daily but I have never blogged about it, maybe you have inspired me....
