What being a Mormon means to me...

For those of you who may not know, the religion that I belong to is not called "The Mormon Church" rather it is called "The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints." I believe with all my heart that this is Christ's Church. Being a member of this church means everything to me. It is my life. I believe in God the Eternal Father and in his Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. These three heavenly beings bring purpose into my life and provide me with an eternal perspective which enriches my daily life. I believe in a plan of happiness, a plan of salvation, a plan of redemption. This plan provides a way that through the atonement of Jesus Christ I can be forgiven of my sins, become perfected and return to live with God.

I believe that marriage between a man and a women is ordained of God and that holy temples are the place where sacred ordinances and covenants can be performed. I know that families can live together for eternity. I know that I am a daughter of God and have the potential to become like him. I know that without God I am nothing but with him he can mold me into greatness.

I know that God created me in his image and that I lived with him before I came to this earth.

Prayers are indeed heard by a Heavenly Father and are answered. The Spirit of God brings comfort, direction, guidance and peace into my life.

I am hopelessly flawed and often feel overwhelmed by life but as I turn to God I find peace and the strength to do what is right. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the root of all the happiness that I experience in life.

How blessed I am to have this knowledge.

This is the Testimony of Jeffery R Holland, an apostle of Jesus Christ. I Believe his words.

Jack Attack is Two!

Yesterday was Jack's birthday, the big 2! I can't beleive he is two. He is such a little boy and no longer a baby. We had a lovely day. Some of my favorite moments were;

  • Seeing his face when he opened his pressents

  • Listening to him say "its my birthday" all day long

  • Playing with his new bowling pins all morning

  • Going on a nature walk with his buddies and throwing sticks in the water

  • Watching him blow out candles

  • Watching him stick his face in his cake

  • Seeing the excitement of having a bike

  • Asking him "how old are you?" and having him reply showing my two fingers saying, "five"

  • Going on a family run

  • Playing soccer or football

  • Morning Pressies

    Bowling all morning

    The Glorified Play date

    Cake Time, Jack's favorite time

    With our Two year old

    Jack is such a blessing in our lives.
    I am 24!

    Saturday was my Birthday and these are the words that sum it up:
    beautiful, sunny, bread machine, cuddles, busy, playing, math, family, togetherness, busy, fish, lobsters, funny cards, hiking, wonder and happy. I had a lovely day and feel so blessed.

    Ben, being the my funny husband got me two funny cards. One is a little risky but the other I shall share.

    In case you can't see it says; So, this older couple at a nudist colony eating dinner when the wife says, "Dear I've got the worst case of HEARTBURN."

    ...On the inside it reads: "The husband says, "you don't have heartburn your boob's have fallen in your soup!"

    I love it!

    Sometimes life is GREAT! Other times it is irritating and difficult. Sometimes life is full of the unexpected and sometimes it's perfectly predictable. Life is life. Without the good and the bad, life would be blah. So the opposing characteristics of life add flavor and personality to each day. My challenge to you is to embrace each day.

    My life is filled with the following;

    Early rising (5:15am as of late), read scriptures, math studies, yoga, being with Jack, feeding Jack, helping Jack pee, clothing Jack, picking up after Jack, playing with Jack, exposing Jack to the world, reading with Jack, singing with Jack, playing hide and seek, running errands, running after Jack, cleaning, finding Jack's treasures hidden all over the house, more math, teaching aerobics, showering, laundry, making dinner, playing with play dough, reading books, hiding jelly beans from Jack, going on walks, running, hugging Ben, watching American idol, blogging and breathing...Ahh, breathing, I love this part.

    I can't complain life is at it's best, throwing everything at me. I am learning everyday how to be better and how hopelessly flawed I am. I am so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ, without I would be a basket mess, with it is am sane and thankful for my blessings. My life has taken so many turns that I never would have planned for but it is so much better than what I planned.

    Here are some highlights of today:

    ...and yes those are home made dinner rolls, I am finally making rolls that look like rolls. I would post pictures of my first attempts of making dinner rolls but I have too much pride so just imagine bread like golf balls.
